Alcohol in Society
We recognize the fact that our products add enjoyment to life but can cause harm when abused. We therefore encourage responsible drinking through responsible commercial communication and consumption.
We have internal code that allows us to self-regulate and ensure we market and sell our products responsibly – the Diageo Marketing Code (DMC) has a committee that approves all materials before we share to the public to ensure they adhere to the code. All staff, agencies and partners that are responsible for any form of communication are taken through DMC training to ensure compliance to the code.
On top of self-regulation, we have gone ahead to carry out awareness and behavioural change campaigns so as to promote responsible use of alcohol in accordance with the CEO commitments to sustainability and responsibility for the last 7 years.
